East Alabama Regional Planning & Development Commission, along with the CEDS Strategy Committee, will conduct a public hearing at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, via conference call for the purpose of receiving public comments concerning the region’s CEDS. The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a regional planning and implementation process designed to create jobs, foster more stable and diversified economies, improve living conditions, and provide a mechanism for guiding and coordinating the efforts of people and organizations involved in economic development. Interested citizens are encouraged to review the previous CEDS, consider the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats regarding economic development in their area, and attend the hearing to offer their comments regarding important local issues and needs. The plan can be obtained on the EARPDC website, or by contacting Shelby Peterson. If you have any questions about the hearing or the CEDS, please contact Mrs. Shelby Peterson, Senior Planner, at the East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission at (256) 237-6741.
