MPO MEETINGS

All MPO meetings are open to the public. Unless specified, all meetings are held at the East Alabama Regional Commission 3rd floor conference room at 1130 Quintard Avenue, Anniston, Alabama, 36202. All meeting dates are subject to change. Please contact the MPO staff to verify dates and times. 

MPO Policy Committee

The MPO Policy Committee serves as the official decision-making body for the transportation planning process in the Calhoun Area MPO. This committee is comprised of the elected officials of the six-member jurisdictions: Anniston, Hobson City, Jacksonville, Oxford, Weaver, and the Calhoun County Commission. The EARPDC Executive Director and the 4th Division ALDOT Engineer are the remaining votes of the fourteen-member voting committee.

The MPO Policy Committee meets monthly at 11 am on the 3rd Thursday unless noted otherwise.

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)

The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) provides the MPO with input, recommendations, and advice on the technical aspects of proposed roadway network improvements, planning, funding, and implementation. The TAC consists of municipal department heads, engineers, planners, transit providers, and staff who work for member jurisdictions.

 The TAC meets monthly at 10 am on the 3rd Thursday unless noted otherwise.

Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)

The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is the main committee charged with providing citizen review and comments on the transportation planning process as well as needed or proposed transportation improvement projects. Both the Policy Committee and the TAC may receive input, recommendations, or advice directly from the CAC.
The CAC is comprised of over 50 citizens representing the member jurisdictions with a minimum of 3 members for small jurisdictions and roughly 1 CAC member for every 1,750 citizens for those with populations over 5,000.

The CAC meets monthly at 10 am on the 3rd Wednesday unless noted otherwise.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC)

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is an ad-hoc committee that convenes when the Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan is undergoing an update. The BPAC is composed of representatives of the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association (NEABA), interested members of the CAC, representatives from local law enforcement, municipal planning staff, interested elected officials, local Parks and Recreational Department (PARD) directors, local bicycle shop owners, local agencies providing services for youth and teenagers, and local bicycling enthusiasts.
